Participate in our Community Vegetable Garden

In the summer of 2009, North of Broad’s Blockwatch collaborated with Mt. Vernon AME church to start an organic Community Vegetable Garden. Residents met twice a week to help grow everything from Bull’s Eye Beets to Collard Greens. The church and neighbors also canned over 250 tomatoes together, a quarter of which was donated to AME’s Annual Conference. The NoBo Garden is located at 279 N. 22nd Street. Garden plots are available for interested NoBo residents.
